Policies
Cancellation and missed appointment policy
Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Cancellations and missed appointments
Your appointment time is reserved specifically for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, at least 24 hours’ notice is required.
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments or no-shows, may be subject to the full session fee.
Cancellation fees are the responsibility of the client and are generally not covered by extended health insurance plans, as the fee is for a reserved appointment time rather than a counselling service provided.
If you are unable to attend an appointment, please contact Shifting Minds Counselling Services as soon as possible. Providing as much notice as possible allows the appointment time to potentially be offered to another client.
Repeated missed appointments or late cancellations may result in a review of the client’s scheduling arrangements and may affect the ability to book future appointments.
Exceptions
I understand that unexpected circumstances can occur. Exceptions to the cancellation policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis in situations involving significant emergencies or other circumstances outside the client’s reasonable control.
Late arrival
Appointments are scheduled for a specific period of time. If a client arrives late, the session may still need to end at the originally scheduled time in order to respect the appointments of other clients.
Repeated late arrivals may be discussed as part of the counselling process and may result in a review of scheduling arrangements.
Thank you for respecting this policy and the time reserved for your care.
